Wow.... another great Texas crowd tonight in at the Austin Music Hall. That was a terrific show! They loved Conan, Andy, opener Reggie Watts, and Deon Cole, the writer from Conan's Tonight Show who does a stand-up segment. Local Austin hero Charlie Sexton came in and did a song with the band, too.
The Austin Music Hall is essentially a good-sized club, not a theater. So there was almost no room to either side of the stage (wings) for all of the "worlds" that we set up every day: monitor world, video world (runs the video content to the large screen at the back of the stage), lighting world, guitar world, bass/backline world. We ended up with people in some unusual places. And we were all tightly packed on the stage. As a result, I was about a foot from Mark Pender all night. I had a great view of the crowd and the stage. A good night all the way around.
