Denver Venue

Good afternoon from Denver. I'm about to do a line check at this beautiful theater in Denver- no idea what it's called yet. You ask those questions later in the day. Check out the "breakfast of champions" pic. This shit really happens.

Ok, it called the Ellie Caulkins Opera House. It's really, really nice. There's four tiers of seating, with the nosebleeds being almost 70 feet above the stage. A big post-modern-looking chandelier hangs down, obstructing the view of many seats in that top tier. So the venue crew radios "lose the chandelier" to someone, and, suddenly the chandelier slowly folds into itself and ascends into the catwalk, out of view. Like Close Encounters in reverse. I need one of those for my house. When I get a house.

There's also a motorized orchestra pit area, which raises to accommodate additional seating for non-orchestra shows like ours. Theater technology is more impressive than I would have guessed.

Denver crowd was really good. A big improvement from Boulder, which sagged. Now it's time for a 15-hour ride to Dallas, Texas.
