Kansas City

OK, something's going on. Another great show? The Kansas City crowd was loud and appreciative all night. I wasn't so far out on stage tonight, so I didn't have quite as good a view as last night in Tulsa.

The Midland Theater in KC is the most beautiful venue we've played so far on the tour. It's a recently renovated (built in 1927), ornately-appointed theater that seats around 3500, but seems like twice that amount.

After load out, we had famous Gates BBQ, the presidential platter (pictured), waiting for us on the bus. Man was it good. The cole slaw was good, the baked beans were good, the ribs were good. Delicious. Trumpet player and Kansas City native Mark Pender apparently arranged with the powers that be to outfit each bus with a proper KC barbecue. Thanks, Mark!

Well it's been four in a row. Four venues in four days, with four drives, and no hotels. And I'm a little run down. We have tomorrow off, and I'm really looking forward to it.

And now to bus 436 miles to Minneapolis.
